Most people are raised believing that ‘microbes’ is another name for ‘germs’, And everyone knows that germs are what make us sick. Right?

You may be as shocked as I was to find out that we are each a mass of microbes.

Dr David C. Johnson PhD – tells us that “Microbes are the backbone of every organism and ecosystem on this planet.” He showed us that our bodies are each made up of approximately:

  • 10 Trillion Human cells
  • 90 Trillion microbial cells and
  • 1 Quadrillion Resident Viruses

… our human cells would be equivalent to almost one-leg (red) of us.

  • 20,000 Human genes
  • 2-200 Million microbial genes

… our human genes would be equivalent to only the toes on one foot (red)

What do these microbes do for you? Just about everything

  • They digest our food,
  • Turn off and on our genes that regulate brain development, anxiety, depression, autism, arthritis and emotional behaviour.
  • Control appetites and cravings.
  • Prevent allergies, skin diseases and asthma.
  • Detoxify carcinogens.
  • Comprise >80% of our immune systems.
  • Cell renewal
  • Nutrient generation
  • Vitamin synthesis

  • Administration of antibiotics, or
  • Diet related issues?

Just about every auto-immune disease that we have is related to our microbiome.

  • Cancer
  • Inflammatory bowel disease
  • Irritable bowel disease
  • Diverticulitis
  • Surgical infections
  • Liver disease
  • Metabolic syndrome
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Diabetes
  • Obesity
  • Acne
  • Atopic dermatitis
  • Psoriasis

  • Etc., etc

“We’ve seen since 1950 a dramatic increase in instance of these immune disorders from type 1 diabetes to asthma to multiple sclerosis; even Crohn’s disease. Crohn’s disease they’ve seen in people that have suffered decades and some people can die from this, they’ll have surgery to remove parts of their intestine and they’ll take more antibiotic regimes. But they’ve found that if you come in with a healthy donor, with a faecal matter transplant, that these people that have suffered for decades in some cases, can be cured in 24 hours. It’s a dramatic turn-around once you get the right biology going.” (Dr David Johnson PhD.)

Similarly, every plant, animal, bird, fish … you name it, is also a collection of microbes.

Usually the anaerobic microbes – the stinky ones – live in the absence of oxygen and are often associated with disease. On the other hand, there are aerobic, beneficial microbes that live in the presence of oxygen and perform beneficial tasks on our behalf.

Plants need these beneficial microbes to function, grow, fruit and … to live. Inorganic Chemical fertilisers, pesticides, herbicides and weedicides, etc., can be just as effective in causing sickness in plants as antibiotics can with humans. If the correct microbes are seeded back into their environment these plants can recover very quickly too.

There is a very strong case for not using these chemical ‘poisons’ in your soil AT ALL!

NOTE: International lecturer and highly regarded Australian Soil Biologist, Dr Christine Jones reports;

“The tide has turned. It will not be possible to hold it back. Just about everything we have been provided about soils for many decades, you actually need to get those books and throw them out because just about ALL OF IT IS WRONG! Just about everything we have been taught about soil is WRONG!”

“You can find really, good information if you read the research articles that were written in the 1800.s – here in Australia – there were people in 1895-1896 writing articles: from the CSIRO – they were great guys, back then … writing on mycorrhizal fungi, on free living nitrogen fixers, and really good stuff on soil health … and started looking at a whole lot of species that could be used in grazing. Then, as we all know the World Wars came along … then after the 2nd World War people started saying this was all too hard … we’ll just use chemicals instead of thinking. But the tide has turned”.

“After WW2 the emphasis changed to propaganda supplied by chemical fertilizer companies.

Historic Statement by CSIRO Division of plant industries: “We see no future in soil biology”.

WOW! Did they get that wrong!

“Big Mistake! HUGE!” – (Movie: Pretty Woman)
